Berry Pastries

These unique berry pastries ad a fun, colorful, delicious accent to any meal!

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3 cup bread flour
  • 1.5 tsp packet yeast (1 packet)

Egg wash

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp water

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese (1 package)
  • 1 cup red currant jam
  • Variety of berries

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in microwave and then stir in half and half, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Now stir in the beaten eggs. Dump the flour on top of the liquid. Make a little hollow in the center of the top of the flour and pour the contents of the yeast package on it. Set your mixer for the dough setting.
  2. When done, remove, divide and roll into 3x3” squares.
  3. Spread the filling on the rectangle and sprinkle down the middle with berries. Fold over the dough, and pinch/seam edges together on the top middle. Brush top (with egg wash.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 20-22 minutes total.
