Berry Cream Puffs

As my 5 year old said, "MOM!!!! These are the best food ever!"

  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ t salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 eggs


  • 1 cup cold milk
  • ½ cup pureed red raspberries approx. 3 oz berries
  • 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
  • ¾ tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups whipping cream


  • Various Berries


  1. Preheat oven to 400.

  2. Boil water, butter, and salt together. Add flour all at once and stir until it forms a ball. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Continue beating until mixture is smooth and shiny.

  3. Drop by ¼ cups at least 3 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet. 

  4. Bake 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 375, and bake about 15 minutes more, until puffed up and light golden brown.

  5. Remove to a wire rack. Immediately split puffs open; remove tops and set aside. Remove and discard soft dough inside puff.

  6. Allow time to cool.

  7. In a bowl, beat milk, raspberries, pudding mix and extract on low for 2 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Fold in whipped cream. Fill the cream puffs and replace tops.

  8. Top with your favorite berries.
