With its fertile, well-drained soil, spring rain and warm summer days with cool evenings, Oregon’s Willamette Valley is known for its extraordinary blackberries. We grow several varieties of plump blackberries in both Oregon and Mexico, providing a year-round supply. People love our blackberries, not only for their wonderful flavor, but also for their many health benefits!
Hurst’s blackberries are high in fiber and vitamin C and a good source of folate, potassium and other important minerals. They are cholesterol free, and naturally low in fat and sodium.
HANDLING & STORAGE
- Blackberries should not be damp because moisture speeds the rate of decay.
- Shelf life is approximately one week after picking, or three to five days after they reach your market.
- Blackberries are excellent for freezing.
Hurst’s blackberries are sold primarily in 5.6 oz. clamshell containers. The clear clamshell design protects the berries and allows you to see the fruit easily.
